Oyo Govt Demolishes Building Used by Kidnappers of Adelabu’s Sister, Sons

The Oyo State Government on Monday demolished a building identified as a hideout used by kidnappers who abducted the sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Mrs. Busayo John-Paul, along with her twin sons.

Authorities said the action underscores the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards criminal activities.

The demolition was carried out by officials of the Ministry of Lands and Housing in collaboration with security agencies, following intelligence that linked the property to the gang responsible for the abduction.

Mrs. John-Paul and her 12-year-old twins, Peter and Paul, were kidnapped on June 3 along Elewura, Ring Road, Ibadan, while she was taking them to school.

They were later rescued in a coordinated operation by the Nigeria Police Force, which resulted in the killing of two suspected kidnappers and the arrest of several others.

Subsequent investigations, according to government officials, identified the demolished building as one of the locations where the victims were allegedly held during their captivity.
