Kwankwaso Faces Legal Threat Over Alleged PRP Form Purchase, Party Chieftain Says

The Vice-Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has been threatened with a lawsuit over allegations that he purchased Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, forms for various political offices in Kano.

PRP State Chairman, Abdulkadir Musa Guza, made the accusation on Sunday during a press briefing at the NUJ Press Centre, Kano.

Guza said hundreds of aspirants seeking to contest under the party are now confused and uncertain about their political future.“I was in Kaduna as PRP State Chairman to attend the party retreat and also obtained forms for my people contesting various offices in Kano after they paid for them.

But I was told that someone had purchased all the forms,” he said.“When I pressed to know who it was, the national secretary told me it was Kwankwaso.

I asked why, and they said we are in talks with him for a possible defection to our party.“After days without any sign of Kwankwaso defecting to the PRP, it became apparent that he may have been on a mischievous mission against the party, because one cannot belong to another party while holding that party’s forms.“We don’t know his mission, and that is why we are alerting the public.

“That is why we will take legal action against him if he refuses to return our forms before INEC closes the window for submission of candidates’ names,” he added.
