The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced plans to roll out a biometric V-Pass system for domestic air travellers as part of efforts to enhance airport security and streamline passenger processing.
The initiative is expected to leverage biometric technology to simplify identity verification, reduce congestion at terminals and improve the overall travel experience. With the V-Pass, passengers will be able to move through key checkpoints more efficiently, minimising delays associated with manual documentation.
FAAN said the rollout aligns with its broader goal of modernising airport operations and adopting global best practices in aviation security and passenger management. The agency also noted that the system would help strengthen data accuracy and curb fraudulent activities within the aviation sector.
Further details on the implementation timeline and how travellers can enrol for the biometric pass are expected to be announced soon.
