Army arrests four Boko Haram logistics suppliers in Borno

Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested four suspected logistics suppliers linked to Boko Haram in Borno State, in a major breakthrough against the insurgents’ support network in the North-East.

According to military sources, the suspects were apprehended during coordinated intelligence-led operations carried out in parts of the state known for insurgent activities. The operation targeted individuals believed to be providing essential supplies, including food, fuel, and other materials, to fighters operating in remote areas.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the arrested suspects allegedly played key roles in sustaining the activities of Boko Haram by facilitating the movement of goods and information across communities. Security officials noted that disrupting such logistics chains is critical to weakening the operational capacity of the group.

Items recovered during the operation reportedly include foodstuffs, communication devices, and other materials suspected to have been intended for delivery to insurgent camps. The army said further investigations are ongoing to uncover additional collaborators and dismantle the broader network supporting the group.

A military spokesperson emphasized that the arrests demonstrate the effectiveness of ongoing counter-insurgency operations and the growing cooperation between security agencies and local communities. He urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information that could assist troops in identifying and neutralizing threats.

The suspects are currently in military custody and are expected to be handed over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution in accordance with the law.

Security analysts have described the development as a significant step toward curbing insurgent activities, noting that targeting supply chains is a key strategy in modern counter-terrorism efforts. They added that sustained pressure on logistics networks could further limit the ability of armed groups to regroup and launch attacks.

The Nigerian Army reiterated its commitment to restoring peace and stability in the North-East, assuring citizens that operations would continue until all террорист networks are dismantled and normalcy is fully restored.
