President Donald Trump has warned that countries supplying military weapons to Iran will face immediate 50% tariffs on all goods sold to the United States, with no exemptions. This move comes after a two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran, where the US agreed to stop military strikes on the country.
Trump announced the tariffs on his social media platform, Truth Social, stating, “A Country supplying Military Weapons to Iran will be immediately tariffed, on any and all goods sold to the United States of America, 50%, effective immediately. There will be no exclusions or exemptions!”.
The US is also discussing tariff and sanctions relief with Iran, with Trump claiming that many conditions in his 15-point ceasefire plan have been agreed upon by Tehran.
