The management of the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO), led by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Abdu Bello Mohammed, on Friday received the Special Adviser to the President on Power, Mr. Lanre Babalola, and his delegation at the organisation’s corporate headquarters in Abuja.
The visit served as a platform for high-level discussions on the operations of the national grid, ongoing power sector reforms, and the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting NISO in the effective discharge of its mandate.
According to a statement issued after the meeting, deliberations centred on improving grid reliability, enhancing operational efficiency, promoting transparency, and strengthening overall system stability within Nigeria’s electricity sector.
Speaking during the visit, Babalola emphasised the importance of prudent resource management, improved operational discipline, and sustained efforts to boost grid performance while minimising system disruptions across the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI). He reiterated the pivotal role of NISO in driving a more stable, resilient, and efficient power sector capable of meeting the country’s growing electricity demands.
In his remarks, Mohammed assured the presidential adviser and his delegation of NISO’s unwavering commitment to enhancing grid reliability and achieving operational excellence. He also pledged the organisation’s full support toward advancing the shared goal of building a more robust, sustainable, and efficient electricity supply industry for the benefit of Nigerians.
The meeting underscored the Federal Government’s continued focus on power sector reforms and its determination to strengthen the operational framework of the national grid.
