The Taraba State Government has taken over 188 housing units under the National Housing Programme, calling for additional projects to address the state’s growing housing needs.
The handover is expected to provide more residents with access to decent and affordable accommodation while supporting the government’s efforts to reduce the housing deficit.
State officials expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for the project and appealed for the inclusion of Taraba in future housing schemes.
They noted that additional housing developments would help meet rising demand, particularly among low- and middle-income earners and vulnerable residents.
The government also stressed the importance of partnerships between federal and state authorities in expanding access to affordable housing across Taraba State.
The project is expected to contribute to improved living conditions and stimulate economic activity through construction and related businesses.
