Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has appointed Nollywood actresses Rachael Okonkwo and Eucharia Anunobi as part of 101 new political aides approved by his administration.
The appointments, announced in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, comprise seven Special Advisers, six Senior Special Assistants and 88 Special Assistants. They take effect immediately. (Punch Newspapers)
Rachael Okonkwo, popularly known as Nkoli Nwa Nsukka, was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Film and Creative Industry Development, placing her in charge of responsibilities relating to the state’s creative sector.
Anunobi, also a veteran Nollywood actress, was appointed Special Assistant on Women Mobilisation for the Enugu-North Zone.
The wider list includes aides assigned to areas such as youth development, women mobilisation, community engagement, public communication, technology and innovation, rural development, environmental management and political mobilisation. (blueprint.ng)
Other appointees include aides responsible for civic education and voter awareness, grassroots coordination, inter-party affairs, infrastructure monitoring, security intelligence, social media and government communication.
The state government said the appointments are part of efforts to strengthen its administrative structure and improve coordination across different sectors.
The inclusion of the two Nollywood figures also highlights the administration’s focus on the creative industry and women mobilisation as part of its broader governance structure. (Punch Newspapers)
