Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have criticised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over its handling of ballot paper contracts and the posting of electoral officials.
They expressed concerns over the commission’s decisions, calling for greater transparency and accountability in the management of electoral processes ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Atiku and the ADC stressed the importance of ensuring that all electoral arrangements are conducted fairly and in accordance with established rules to protect the credibility of future elections.
They also urged INEC to address concerns surrounding its administrative decisions and demonstrate its commitment to conducting free, fair and credible polls.
INEC has a central role in organising Nigeria’s elections, and its decisions are expected to inspire public confidence in the electoral process.
