The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has informed the court that voter information is not confidential, as it responds to a N10 billion suit filed by Emeka Ike.
In its submission, the electoral body argued that the data in question does not fall under restricted or private records, maintaining that such information is accessible within the framework of electoral transparency and public accountability. The position forms part of INEC’s defence against claims raised in the high-profile lawsuit.
The case continues to draw attention as legal arguments focus on the status of voter records and the extent to which they can be disclosed under Nigerian law.
