The Lagos State Government has commenced the upgrade of water facilities in Iju and Akute as part of efforts to improve water supply across the state.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening existing infrastructure, increasing production capacity, and ensuring more residents have access to clean and reliable water. Officials noted that the rehabilitation and expansion of the facilities would significantly enhance distribution to surrounding communities.
According to the government, the project forms part of a broader strategy to address water shortages and meet the growing demand driven by population growth and urbanisation. Once completed, the upgraded systems are expected to deliver improved efficiency, reduce disruptions, and boost overall service delivery.
Authorities also reaffirmed their commitment to investing in critical infrastructure to support sustainable development and improve the quality of life for Lagos residents.
