The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday confirmed Mr David Ombugadu as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Nasarawa State.
The announcement was made in Lafia by Mr Abdulmaleek Danga, chairman of the party’s Governorship Primary Electoral Committee and a member of the House of Representatives, who stated that Ombugadu emerged through a consensus arrangement widely supported by party members.
Danga noted that the process was peaceful and reflected unity within the party.
In his remarks, Ombugadu expressed gratitude to party members for their endorsement, describing it as a transition from aspirant to official candidate. He said the outcome followed extensive consultations with party elders, stakeholders, and the national leadership.
He added that the party is united and ready to commence preparations for the 2027 governorship race, stressing the urgency to begin work immediately.
Ombugadu also disclosed that the party has developed a blueprint for the state, which will soon be unveiled. He explained that the 2027 manifesto would build on its 2019 and 2023 policy frameworks, with a focus on impactful projects and programmes for residents.
He commended party loyalists for their continued support and urged them to gear up for a vigorous campaign, expressing confidence that the PDP would emerge victorious in the 2027 governorship election.
