The Zamfara State Ministry of Health has announced plans to commence the 2026 registration update and revalidation exercise for all private health facilities operating across the state.

The exercise will cover private hospitals, clinics, maternity homes, laboratories, pharmacies, and other privately owned healthcare establishments.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun, and made available to journalists in Gusau.

According to the statement, the initiative is aimed at strengthening professionalism, improving healthcare service delivery, and ensuring effective regulation of private medical practice in Zamfara State.

The ministry explained that the exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to standardise healthcare operations and enhance compliance with regulatory guidelines within the state’s health sector.

It added that the collection of registration forms will take place from May 22 to May 28, 2026, while submission of completed forms is scheduled for May 29 to June 11, 2026.

Field inspection visits by the task force committee are expected to run from June 19 to July 9, 2026.

The ministry urged all proprietors and operators of private health facilities to cooperate fully with the exercise, warning that failure to comply may attract sanctions, including possible restrictions on continued operations.

It assured that the revalidation process would be conducted in line with due process to guarantee fairness, accountability, and improved healthcare standards across the state.
