Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has won the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary in Zamfara State, securing 60,500 votes out of a total of 61,137 ballots cast.
The result was announced in Gusau by the Returning Officer of the ADC Presidential Primary Election Committee in the state, Engr. Namadi Muhammad Musa, who said the exercise was conducted across 147 wards in all 14 local government areas.
Musa disclosed that the party had 63,484 registered members in Zamfara, with 61,137 participating in the primary.
He declared Atiku the winner after polling the highest number of votes, while Hayatuddin received 446 votes and Rotimi Amaechi scored 191 votes.
According to Musa, the exercise was conducted in line with the ADC constitution and electoral guidelines, and proceeded peacefully and orderly.
The Zamfara primary forms part of the party’s nationwide process to select its presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general election.
