The Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), Prof. Tunji Olaopa, has assured shortlisted candidates in the ongoing recruitment exercise that a computer-based test (CBT) will soon be conducted.
Olaopa gave the assurance in a statement he personally signed at the weekend.
He explained that the clarification became necessary following online claims suggesting that the CBT had been cancelled and that recruitment had already been concluded.
Dismissing the claims as frivolous and unfounded, Olaopa said the Commission had put measures in place to conduct the CBT for all shortlisted candidates.
According to him, the only outstanding issue is the provision of adequate resources to support the exercise. He added that the CBT would be conducted as soon as the required resources are secured.
Providing further clarification, Olaopa said the Commission had only conducted interviews for candidates with qualifications in science, technical and vocational subjects, mathematics, and engineering-related fields.
He explained that this was in response to a request from the Federal Ministry of Education, which urgently required teachers in these subject areas for Federal Unity Schools.
He stressed that the exercise does not in any way replace or invalidate the planned CBT.
Olaopa, therefore, urged shortlisted candidates to remain calm and await official communication from the Commission regarding the next stage of the recruitment process.
