A political support group in Yobe State has reaffirmed its commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates, holding its 2026 inaugural convention in Damaturu.
The Yobe Strategic Engagement Initiative for Baba Mallam Wali, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates convened at the Cultural Centre, drawing party supporters and stakeholders from across the state.
Speaking at the event, APC governorship candidate, Baba Mallam Wali—represented by Barrister Saleh Samanja—commended the organisers and pledged to work closely with the group as political activities intensify. He emphasised the importance of unity among party members, noting that collective effort would be key to achieving electoral success and sustaining development in the state.
Wali also highlighted the need to build on the achievements of Governor Mala Buni’s administration, stating that such engagements would strengthen the party’s grassroots support and consolidate ongoing policies and programmes.
Earlier, the state coordinator of the initiative, Comrade Mohammed Saleh Ahmad, said the convention was organised to demonstrate support for the APC and its candidates. He praised the Buni-led administration for what he described as improvements in governance and living standards, urging party supporters to remain united and actively engage communities to advance the party’s goals.
The event concluded with renewed calls for cohesion within the APC as preparations continue for upcoming political contests.
