The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has rejected claims by Kaduna Electric that a transmission fault was responsible for the recent power outage affecting Jos and surrounding areas.
TCN insisted that there was no fault on its transmission network supplying electricity to the area, urging the public to disregard reports suggesting otherwise.
The company said the cause of the disruption should be properly established rather than attributed to the transmission network without verification.
The disagreement has highlighted the need for better coordination and communication among operators across Nigeria’s electricity value chain, particularly when outages occur.
TCN reiterated its commitment to maintaining a stable transmission network and working with distribution companies to address challenges affecting electricity supply.
