Deregistration: ADC won’t be intimidated by political shenanigans – Party spokesman

The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, has vowed that the party will not be cowed by political maneuvers.

Abdullahi made the pledge on Monday during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time.

His remarks followed a ruling by Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to deregister the ADC, Accord Party, and others ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Reacting to the judgment, the ADC spokesman said:
“ADC will not bow to dictatorship. We will not be intimidated by these shenanigans. We are a law-abiding party and we still have faith in the judiciary, regardless of what individual judges do at the lower courts or at any level. That is why we are demanding justice.

“By Tuesday morning, ADC will be at the Court of Appeal. This is a party born out of adversity, and we are used to challenges like this.

“We are not distracted by them. Despite the obstacles, we have built a formidable political party and conducted one of the most ambitious internal democratic exercises in the country.

“What we achieved during our primaries is unprecedented and sets a standard no other political party in Nigeria has matched.”
