Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the appointment of three commissioners-designate, two Special Advisers and four Senior Special Assistants as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s governance structure.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, announced the appointments in a statement, saying the move was aimed at improving coordination and supporting the implementation of the administration’s development agenda. (Punch Newspapers)
The three commissioners-designate are Dr Ahmed Wali Doho, Nasiru Adamu Degri and Dr Muhammad A. Bello. Their names have been forwarded to the Gombe State House of Assembly for screening and approval. (Trust Radio)
Doho, from Kwami Local Government Area, is expected to replace Engr. Usman Maijama’a Kallamu, who resigned after emerging as the member-elect representing Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Degri, from Balanga Local Government Area, is replacing Engr. Bala Adams, who was nominated as running mate to the APC governorship candidate in the state. (Trust Radio)
Governor Yahaya also approved the appointment of Abdulmalik Musa Jibrin and Mohammed Bashir Nuhu as Special Advisers.
In addition, Jibrin M. Ali, Sadiq Mohammed Abubakar, popularly known as BB Kumo, John Launa and Danlami Sanda were appointed Senior Special Assistants II on Political and Community Engagement. (Peoples Daily)
The appointments of the Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants take immediate effect, while the three commissioners-designate will assume their positions subject to confirmation by the State House of Assembly.
