Immigration Service, Army Strengthen Border Security Collaboration In Yobe

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the Nigerian Army have strengthened their collaboration to improve border security and combat cross-border crimes in Yobe State.

The partnership is aimed at enhancing intelligence sharing, joint operations and surveillance along the state’s border areas.

Both agencies stressed the importance of closer coordination in addressing threats such as human trafficking, smuggling, illegal migration and other criminal activities that could undermine national security.

The collaboration is also expected to improve monitoring of border movements and strengthen the capacity of security personnel operating in difficult and remote areas.

Officials said sustained cooperation between immigration authorities and the military would help safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity while promoting safer border communities.

They called for continued information sharing and coordinated action to effectively respond to emerging security threats in Yobe and the wider North-East region.
