Kano-Katsina Rail Project 80% Complete — Adebiyi

The Kano-Katsina railway project has reached 80 per cent completion, according to the Minister of Transportation, Said Ahmed Alkali.

The development marks significant progress on the rail corridor, which is expected to improve transportation and strengthen economic connections between communities in Kano and Katsina states.

The project is also designed to enhance the movement of passengers and goods while supporting trade and regional economic activities.

Adebiyi said the Federal Government remained committed to completing major rail projects across the country as part of efforts to modernise Nigeria’s transportation infrastructure.

Once completed, the Kano-Katsina rail line is expected to provide commuters with an additional transportation option, reduce pressure on road networks and contribute to improved connectivity in the region.

The government has continued to prioritise railway development as part of its broader infrastructure agenda, with the aim of creating a more efficient and integrated national transportation system.
