A non-governmental organisation, Arridah Relief Foundation, has extended humanitarian support to more than 250 vulnerable households and persons living with disabilities across several communities in Kaduna State, as part of efforts to ease hardship during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The distribution exercise, which took place ahead of the Sallah festivities, was aimed at providing relief to struggling families and ensuring that disadvantaged members of society are able to celebrate the occasion with a sense of dignity and inclusion.

Speaking during the outreach, the National President of the foundation, Mamman Salima Sani, said the initiative forms part of the organisation’s annual programme designed to support widows, orphans, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups, particularly during festive periods.

She noted that the current economic challenges in the country have made it increasingly difficult for many households to afford basic food items, making interventions such as this both necessary and timely.

“We considered it important to reach out to vulnerable families at this time so they can also experience the joy of Sallah despite the prevailing hardship faced by many Nigerians,” she said.

Salima Sani further disclosed that beneficiaries were drawn from different communities across Kaduna State, while additional support was also provided to some residents in Maraban Jos.

She reaffirmed the foundation’s long-standing commitment to humanitarian service, emphasising its focus on improving the welfare of disadvantaged individuals and alleviating hardship within communities.

Also speaking, the Secretary of the foundation, Ibrahim Mohammed Salafi, said the organisation remains dedicated to sustaining its charitable interventions across Northern Nigeria.

He explained that the foundation has impacted hundreds of lives through various outreach programmes and community-based initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of the less privileged.

Salafi also called on Nigerians to continue to pray for peace, unity, and stability in the country, stressing that compassion and collective responsibility are essential in addressing the challenges facing vulnerable populations.

In his remarks on behalf of the beneficiaries, the leader of persons with spinal cord challenges in Kaduna State and representative of the Joint Association of Physically Challenged Persons, Comrade Nasiru Mohammed Adamu, expressed appreciation to the foundation for the gesture.

He described the intervention as timely, especially given the economic realities confronting many families, and commended the organisation for its consistent support to vulnerable groups during major celebrations.

Adamu added that the assistance would significantly ease the burden on beneficiaries and give them a sense of belonging as they mark the Eid-el-Kabir festivities.
