Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has affirmed that the state’s pledge to deliver over one million votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election remains firm and non-negotiable.
He made this known while speaking to journalists after casting his vote at the presidential primary held in his ward in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area.
Namadi described the large turnout of party members during the exercise as a strong indication of the confidence and trust Jigawa residents have in Tinubu.
“From what you can see, people turned out in large numbers in support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with virtually no presence from the opposition. This clearly reflects the President’s popularity among the people of Jigawa,” he said.
He added that the smooth conduct of the primary further demonstrates Tinubu’s commitment to democratic principles, particularly internal democracy, which he described as essential for national stability, peace, and progress.
According to the governor, the outcome of the primary election sends a clear message to opposition parties that the APC is well-positioned for a sweeping victory at all levels in the 2027 general elections.
Namadi also commended APC members and the people of Jigawa State for maintaining discipline and integrity throughout the process.
He, however, urged them to remain focused and begin strategizing ahead of the 2027 general elections.
