The Kano State Police Command has arrested two men suspected of being members of a robbery gang operating in the state.
The suspects were reportedly apprehended following a police operation aimed at tracking down individuals allegedly linked to recent robbery incidents in parts of Kano.
According to the police, the arrests followed intelligence gathering and efforts by security operatives to identify and apprehend suspected criminals involved in activities threatening the safety of residents.
The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to assist investigators in ongoing efforts to establish their alleged involvement in robbery-related activities.
Police authorities said investigations were continuing, with detectives working to determine whether the suspects were connected to other criminal incidents reported in the state.
The command also reassured residents that it would sustain its efforts to tackle robbery, theft and other forms of criminality across Kano.
Residents were urged to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with useful information that could assist in identifying suspicious individuals and preventing criminal activities.
The police further advised members of the public to cooperate with law enforcement officers and promptly report incidents or movements that could threaten lives and property.
The latest arrests come amid continued efforts by security agencies across the country to strengthen operations against criminal gangs and improve public safety.
The suspects are expected to be prosecuted once investigations are concluded and sufficient evidence is established against them.
