The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Training and Development, and Coordinating DIG for the North-Central Zone, Isyaku Mohammed, has restated the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu’s, commitment to reducing crime and improving public safety nationwide, with special focus on Nasarawa State.

DIG Mohammed made the pledge during an inspection tour of the Nasarawa State Police Command. He met with key stakeholders including heads of security agencies, traditional and religious leaders, transport union leaders, MACBAN, IPAC, PCRC, senior officers, and members of the public.

Addressing the gathering, he conveyed the IGP’s assurance that the Nigeria Police Force remains determined to fight crime, rebuild public trust, and ensure a safer society.

He emphasized that effective policing requires strong partnership with communities, adding that lasting security depends on collective action.

“Policing must be driven from the grassroots,” he said. “Our officers must take the fight to criminals through proactive measures, intelligence-led operations, and increased visibility to deny them space to operate.”
