President Bola Tinubu has described the Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, as a “steady hand” who is bringing clarity, discipline, and progress to women’s empowerment. He made the remark while celebrating her birthday.¹

In a statement released by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised Sulaiman-Ibrahim, who marked her birthday on Sunday, 19 April, for redirecting the ministry’s focus toward protection, inclusion, and opportunity.²

Focus on Prevention and Inclusion
The President pointed to her push to build preventive systems that tackle vulnerability at the source, instead of only reacting after crises occur.

He noted that under her leadership, the ministry has shifted attention to long-term safeguards for women, children, and families, making sure they are central to national reforms.

Record of Public Service
Tinubu highlighted her strong track record in public service, which he said has been defined by handling complex assignments and delivering better institutions, clearer plans, and concrete outcomes.³

“Her work speaks directly to the human capital priorities of the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in ensuring that women, children, and families are not at the margins of reform but at its centre,” the statement quoted Tinubu as saying.

Quiet Effectiveness in Delivery
The President commended her “quiet effectiveness” in managing policy, coordination, and implementation across government levels.

He wished her continued strength, sound judgment, and success in her service to the nation.⁴

Ministry’s Direction Under Sulaiman-Ibrahim
Since assuming office, Sulaiman-Ibrahim has emphasised preventive frameworks, stronger protection mechanisms, and broader inclusion in programmes that affect women and vulnerable groups. The ministry has prioritised early intervention, data-driven planning, and partnerships with states and civil society to expand opportunity.

The President’s message signals continued support for those priorities as part of the administration’s wider human capital agenda.
